Preparation and Aftercare for your Spray Tan
Preparing for your spray tan means you will get longer lasting results from your application and a gorgeous, flawless result. These tips will help you achieve the perfect balance of Tan and Glow

HOW TO PREPARE

· Exfoliating your skin 24 to 48 hrs before tanning application takes place means that you will have removed all dead skin cells which will help you get the most out of your spray tan.

·
All waxing, shaving and exfoliation MUST be carried out 24 hrs beforehand, to ensure that your pores close prior to your tanning application.

·
Do not apply any moisturizers, deodorants or perfumes on the day of your spray tan as it can affect the development of the tan. Your skin should be clean prior to being sprayed. It is also best not to shower or bathe with hot water directly before your spray tan. (2+ hours after a hot shower is ok)

WHAT TO BRING??

· Please bring with you whatever you are wanting to be sprayed in. It can be a swimsuit, panties, or nude whichever you are most comfortable with. We do offer deposable panties and bras if that is your preference.

· Clothing can stain so take that into consideration as to what you bring. Consider bringing dark loose fitting cloths to change into after application, as well as a towel for your car seat. We highly recommend no tight fitting cloths of any kind. Please bring a clip or elastic for your hair.

· Flip flops are best so please bring them with you and not sneakers, socks, boots ect. .

· Please remove all jewelry and contact lens beforehand.

v If it's raining an umbrella you may also want to bring loosely fitting rain boots to be worn sock free in case of bad weather.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN FINISHED

Don’t allow your skin to get wet and avoid sweating at the gym or any other physical activity, washing hands, showers, baths and washing up until the recommended time is completed. The recommended time is between 6-24 hours (with the exception of the express spray tan.) Your tech will explain which time best for you.

Don’t touch or rub your skin and avoid physical contact.
Avoid sitting on leathers, light colored materials and soft furnishings as these can stain permanently. Always cover fabrics before sitting on them after your tan and remember that bedding can stain also so don’t use your best sheets!

When the recommended time has come gently rinse with warm water using you hand and no soap only for that 1st day. No exfoliating or using abrasives during the deration of the tan. Dove soap is not recommended at all for spray tanning. You may see some bronzer being washed away this is normal it's just the color guide tint. PLEASE remember that you are NOT fully developed and your tan did not wash away. Your tan will continue to develop for the next 24 hours.

Maintaining your Spray Tan

Avoid swimming as the chlorine strips the color from your skin.

Shower instead of taking long baths.

Don’t rub down with your towel after washing instead pat your skin dry.

Avoid any waxing or shaving treatments for at least 2-3 days.

Moisturize at least twice a day (with only oily free moisturizers) We highly recommend our tan extender which can be purchased at Inspiration’s the day of your treatment to extend the life of your tan as well as giving it a more natural fade, and will keep your skin hydrated hence longer lifetime out of your tan.

Some products can cause faster fading such as bar soaps, alcohol based products such as toners and astringents, products that cause exfoliation such as AHAs, BHAs, Retin-A., oils. Band-aids will also pull off your color.

Also most importantly is that you still need to wear sunscreen. Just because your skin is darker you will still have the same effect in the sun as without the spray tan.
